Excerpt from my current paper:

As artists our individuality is what makes or breaks us.  We cannot lose our artistic identity within a group or try to create something outside of our own interests and ideas.  We cannot pretend to be someone else or try to please others and expect success.  Mainstream contemporary art pushes artists into a mold while pressuring us to individuate ourselves with ingenuity.  Only a handful of people with a handful of interests will succeed this way, trying to please and shock everyone because its what is demanded at the time but “old news” the next day.  In reality we are bound to ourselves.  We are persuaded by our experiences which are influenced by our perceptions, each as individual as the person to which they belong.  The best we can do is learn how best to communicate through abstraction; to relate to as many people as possible by isolating the essence of our idea and stretching it to its limit and beyond.

This is my latest creation.  It needs something else I just don’t know what yet.
